Authors: Azam, Rawnak Miraj Ul
Abstract: This paper examines the transformative potential of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in
addressing environmental conflicts arising from large-scale and transboundary
infrastructure projects. It argues that traditional litigation, constrained by cost, rigidity, and
adversarial dynamics, fails to ensure environmental justice or sustainable outcomes,
particularly for marginalized communities. Employing a mixed-methods approach,
integrating doctrinal analysis of global legal frameworks with comparative case studies, the
study reveals systemic power imbalances that render ADR processes vulnerable to
manipulation by powerful states and corporations. Through in-depth analyses of cases such
as the Lesotho Highlands Water Project, Belo Monte Dam, and Dakota Access Pipeline, the
paper exposes the phenomenon of “unattended voices” in environmental governance. It
advances a novel framework for “Integrated Environmental Justice ADR”, proposing the
establishment of a Global Environmental ADR Tribunal, mandatory Environmental Justice
Impact Assessments, and cultural competency mandates to reimagine ADR as a genuinely
equitable and sustainable instrument of environmental harmony.

Authors: Kibria, Arifatul; Rashid, Md. Shafiqur; Hasan, Zakir
Abstract: The paper thoroughly examines the historical and contemporary challenges faced by the Indigenous people of
the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) in Bangladesh. The paper addresses the impact of land dispossession on the Indigenous
communities in the CHT region. It examines the relationship between land ownership, climate change, and the well-being
of Indigenous peoples. Additionally, the paper delves into the historical background of land ownership in the CHT, the
introduction of colonial policies, and the subsequent displacement of Indigenous communities. The study emphasizes the
importance of approaching these issues from a decolonizing perspective and highlights the need to recognize and address
the historical land rights of Indigenous peoples. A comprehensive review of the literature, historical events, and the
respondents' reflections shows that land disputes lead to displacement and exacerbate the climate crisis. The paper sheds
light on the challenges Indigenous communities face and advocates for the fair and just resolution of land disputes that
have occurred through dispossession, reserved forests, the Kaptai Dam, and other similar issues.

Authors: Ibna Seraj, Prodhan Mahbub; Haque, Hamidul; Kamal, Md Asif
Abstract: Increasing research has demonstrated the importance of online reading for teaching and improving EFL students' reading abilities. However, there are few studies using bibliometrics to examine the literature and identify patterns in this field. This study aimed to identify significant trends within this field of research and to develop an intellectual overview of relevant scholarly work. Bibliographic data for 82 research publications published between 2008 and 2022 (February) were obtained from the Scopus database. Perish/publish, and the VOS viewer was used for data analysis. The publication trend was analyzed using bibliographic indicators, focusing on characteristics such as the most productive year, the top 10 most cited authors, document types, and prominent themes based on the frequently used keywords within the study area. The study's conclusions demonstrate that since 2017, the body of literature in this area has been continuously growing. However, during the COVID-19 epidemic in 2021, the number of research studies skyrocketed. Based on the findings of twenty studies, research was carried out on reading methods, the effects of online reading, and the distinctions between online and printed reading. In light of the aforementioned study, this paper concludes by attempting to outline some potential topics for further investigation.

Authors: Ibna Seraj, Prodhan Mahbub; Afrin, Mashfia; Klimova, Blanka
Abstract: This study aims to investigate key features and themes of research on the impact of translanguaging on the development of EFL learners' writing skills, based on published studies in the Scopus and Google Scholar databases from January 2022 to December 2024. The findings showed that the key features were (i) the qualitative research design was mostly used (ii) Interview and writing script were employed as the top data collection tools (iii) the participants were mostly multilingual (iv) thematic analysis was in the top as data analysis technique (v) the central findings showed that there was a positive impact of translanguaging on student learning and identity development but the tension between students' translanguaging practices in informal/social contexts and their hesitation in formal academic environments exist and (vi) the insights for recommendation of the study are the curriculum reformation, teachers' training in multilingual pedagogy, recognition of students’ full linguistics repertoires and integration of AI and digital tools to support multilingual writing. On the other hand, the key themes in existing literature were teaching practices, pedagogical approaches, multilingual classroom experiences, multilingual writing practices, decoloniality, and educational technologies. The findings provided valuable insights for researchers, teachers, policymakers, and those involved in this field.
