Bangladesh takes precedence worldwide in the shift to renewable energy thanks to its advantageous location and plenty of water resources. Governments are investigating the unexplored potential of hydroelectricity for its sustainability and environmental advantages as they realize how critical it is to lessen dependency on fossil fuels. Bangladesh's current hydroelectric power infrastructure, goals for operations, and contributions to national grids are thoroughly examined in this study. Sector-specific issues, such as infrastructure limitations, environmental effects, and the pursuit of technical advancements, are covered. An important aspect of hydro projects is their environmental evaluation, which considers ecological effects and suggests mitigation techniques. With a focus on sustainability, the study explores state-of-the-art hydro-energy systems to reduce environmental impact and improve economic feasibility. Novel approaches are being investigated, including improved storage and small-scale run-of-river initiatives.en_US
