dc.description.abstract | At present, traffic control is a big problem in the country, especially in Dhaka city. One of the main causes of this problem is manual control of the traffic. If the traffic signaling system can be automated, then this problem could be solved to a greater extent. In this work, an automatic traffic control system has been developed using a microcontroller chip. For this purpose, we used an 8-bit PIC16F84A microcontroller. The system is developed for a junction of four roads only. Traffic light models are implemented using several red, green, and yellow Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) that are connected to the output ports of the microcontroller. According to the program stored inside the microcontroller IC, the LEDs are operated in a definite sequence. For energizing different parts of the system, a 5 V DC voltage source is used. It is found that the implemented system works very well. | en_US |
