Abstract: In today's global job market, proficiency in English is becoming rapidly important for getting hired and advancing in a professional life. Therefore, it’s crucial to understand how skills in English influence job opportunities and professional growth. This study aims to explore the role of English language skills in getting a job, job performance, and career growth. To do this, the study employed a quantitative research design using a survey questionnaire creating Google Forms. 75 students have participated in different programs at a private university in Bangladesh. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS 25 version, a software for quantitative data. The result of the reliability test (.913) showed that the set of questionnaires had a strong inter-rater reliability for eliciting participants’ perceptions. The result also pointed out that the role of English language skills is instrumental in influencing interview boards, making candidates a top choice, getting suitable employment, securing international employment, overcoming obstacles in finding employment, and enhancing an individual's competence in service. The insights of the findings of this study indicate that policymakers should be more cautious about preparing teaching materials and practices for English-skilled manpower.
