Abstract: | This capstone project presents the design, development, and evaluation of the "Next-Gen Easy Bike with Efficient Solar and IoT-Based Navigation System," which aims to revolutionize urban transportation in Bangladesh through sustainable technology integration. Addressing challenges such as dependency on unreliable grid electricity, limited charging infrastructure, and environmental concerns, the project is equipped with a Solar Panel, a Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) charger, and an IoT-enabled innovative navigation system. The innovative system maximizes solar energy capture using MPPT algorithms and a DC-DC boost converter, supported by a hybrid charging approach that integrates grid electricity to ensure reliability under variable weather conditions. IoT capabilities enable real-time location tracking and ensure the safety of the easy bike. Extensive simulation and hardware implementation validate the design’s technical feasibility, demonstrating significant improvements in energy autonomy, operational cost reduction, and environmental impact compared to conventional grid-dependent Easy Bikes. Economic analyses reveal a favorable cost-benefit profile with a short payback period, making the solution accessible to low-income users and scalable for broader deployment. The project multidisciplinary framework combines mechanical, electrical, and socio-economic factors essential for adoption in developing regions. In conclusion, this approach provides an effective, eco-friendly, and affordable solution that supports sustainability goals worldwide and creates a strong base for future growth in renewable energy and smart transportation. |
